Upon walking in, the place was packed. Had some great talent by a young gal that reminded me of the lead singer of the band perry. She was very good. The atmosphere was excellent. They had dolly's dress on the side wall that she wore. Lots of awesome memorabilia. The waitress was very knowledgable and fun. Had an appetizer as a late night snack, the nachos with chicken. Very good. They had an OCC (Orange County Choppers) bike in there that was made by them for Hard Rocks 40th anniversary. Paul Senior sure did that bike proud. It was awesome seeing it. Will return to this establishment.

I really love this place. I'm rarely disappointed. On the other hand I rarely order anything other than the hamburger. The Legendary Burger is excellent. It's cooked perfectly (medium for me) with french fry to onions and onion rings and a brioche bun I can't imagine a better way to serve a hamburger. It's about the best $15 hamburger you can buy. The milkshakes and they were somewhat melted. I prefer my much thicker and it seem like it had sat a while before bring brought to the table. Still it's hard to beat their chocolate milkshake.

Had the big cheese burger, I enjoyed it. Overall though with scores from our family we thought the experience was as follows. Service - good Food - mediocre Price - expensive for food rating. Would we go again probably.

  • Michael M.

Not bad. Awesome environment. Good music with music videos on the monitors. Employees were nice and friendly. The food was OK, tasted like things I make at home. For the price of everything I was expecting more.

  • Scott W.

Avoid this one. We were expecting the hard rock café that would be of the "classic rock" kind of vein. Elvis, aerosmith, van halen maybe. However, it was all the weird metal music that has the strange videos that were NOT family friendly at all. Hardly any rock memorabilia. They should change the name to Hard Metal café. it would be more fitting. Also, the food was lackluster. We won't be back. If you are looking for a place to take your family to eat - avoid this at all costs. Unless you own a Pantera or Megadeth t-shirt. Then, by all means, polish your nipple rings, load up the kids and head on over.

Ordered Nachos an added chicken for $4 extra dollars. Burnt nacho chips came out with what looked like less meat that you would find on a chicken leg. Only thing nice about this place was the A/C and the beer.

Ate here last night. Great service. The waitress was very attentive. Food was tasty. Big portions. It is a little loud, but hey, its supposed to have music. This is usually a dinner stop for us in Pigeon Forge.

  • Michele S.

This was horrible!! All 6 of us order different items and none of us liked our food! Please avoid this place! Plus every worker was freaky looking! I have been too many hard rocks and never had food so bad! Plus felt very uncomfortable.

    (1)
  • Tammy H.

Just "ok". Really overpriced kids meals, chicken in the Caesar salad tasted like it came out of a can, and really without a band playing or something it's just not worth the price. Our appetizer (spinach dip) was good, and my husband enjoyed his burger. All in all, we spent $58 (including tip) for mediocre food. We won't be back.

  • Rachelle S.

I was very disappointed with this Hard Rock. Not only was the food less than desirable, but the service was terrible. We ate at the bar, and it took quite a while to even get a drink, yet alone order food. The bartenders ignored my group for the majority of the time we were there and never asked if we needed refills or how our good was. In addition, a very inappropriate comment was made by the male bartender to a young female waitress. What a horrible experience!

This is less about the food and more about the service. Typical chain resturants you get the same average service. However our visit here we ran into to Tiffany who was just AWESOME. Her personable touch and fast and friendly service is what you wait for in any restaurant. The food was good along with the drinks being made very well. We actually came back again during our vacation just to get service from Tiffany again, unfortunately she was not there but we still had good serivice. Kudos to the management staff for having servers providing great service.

    (5)
  • Kelly C.

The food was okay. It lacked any real flavor and was very overpriced for the quality. We had a wonderful server and do not wish to take anything from him. Probably will not visit another.

  • Melissa H.

Absolutely amazing food. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were awesome. Our waitress was a bit to grabby and kept trying to take our food before we were finished. Not extremely friendly either. However, the people behind us had an issue with their food, the manager came out asked what was wrong and had the food remade and took the two items off their bill.. Now that's a manager who cares about the end result of someone's meal and time. My hats off to the manager and extreme hats off to the chief for mouthwatering food. As we sit here after 15 minutes of being finished with our food and she is nowhere to be seen. She is not the reasons for the 5 stars if it was based on her alone it would get a star nothing more.

Stopped for drinks at the bar after a show at the Opry. They had a nice selection of beers on tap and an impressive bar menu of cocktails and wines. We ordered two draft beers and were surprised it was happy hour. Sunday at 530? Either way, lucky for us! The restaurant was very crowded and several families were waiting for tables. The staff was helpful and fun and let my husband sample a few beers he'd never heard of before. It was a nice experience and we will return again when in the area.

I'm not a fanatic of hard Rock, but my sister wanted to go here. All I can say is that it didn't change my expectations, food was ok and service was terrible. Many good food options to choose from in the area.

I'm a sucker for Hard Rock Cafe, I really, really am. I've been collecting their souvenir pins, off and on, since I was in middle school, so, my thoughts might be a bit colored by that. On to the review, though! My wife and I honeymooned in Wears Valley, TN, back in 2011, and HRC was in Gatlinburg (we have the pins to prove it!). This Crhistmas, we vacationed in Gatlinburg, and found HRC had moved to Pigeon Forge; so we drove to Pigeon Forge. The new location is MUCH bigger than the old, including a stage for live shows. A lot of the memorabilia was from old-school country or Sun Records-style rock'n'roll acts, fitting the location, and the staff were pretty good. naturally, the price for the food seems a bit steep, but, those burgers are unusually good, and, you usually know what you're getting into, going to one of these places. No complaints from me!

  • Michele C.

So we were here over the weekend....This is the worst restaurant ...I've ate at all year...I guess this is the new location.... Restaurant was in a has been mode... Tacky servers....no energy...yuk...The restrooms were clean though,. WE ordered a sampler platter...it tasted worst than frozen appetizers at home..the appearance of it looked like a frozen appetizer...we never finished it ...on drink refills our server goofed up our drinks and filled filled my diet pepsi with dr pepper....yummy I felt like we through our money away..just awful

  • Kellie B.

Atmosphere was cool and inviting as I feel Hard Rock should be. It was very loud in there and our server could've been better and spoke a bit better English. Honestly food was not very good for price paid, looked much better in the pics. We won't return.

    (3)
  • Wink B.

Well we had a great time here. I try to hit HRCs anywhere on the planet I go. This one is new and really neat. Frances was our server and she was super especially with the kids! The food was great and I loved the twist with a mix of rock and country memorabilia. Busy for dinner but we got a table quickly. Cool city t-shirt design too!

This is Hard Rock's new location, moved in from Gatlinburg a couple of weeks ago. The service staff, I would hope are all new as well, as they were across the board not great at all. It took 3 hostesses and 6 minutes for our party of 5 to end up in a booth. The real ordeal started with me, a 29 year old man with a license that clearly states it expires in 2019 attempting to order a drink. Since my dog had chewed on one corner of my license I was informed that I could not use it to purchase a beverage here. The waitress drolled on on some long spiel about how it would be "just her luck" that the ABC would have a surprise inspection and somehow I would lose her her job. I can only imagine the complications from serving someone of legal age with a valid ID could bring down on her. Truly disastrous. When my companions' meals arrived we had a mixed bag of terribly overcooked vegetables and decently prepared burgers. I certainly hope their situation improves or it's just another subpar restaurant on the strip.

  • Jason G.

Not one of the better Hard Rock Cafe as far as memorabilia goes. The food was good and typical of a Hard Rock. The service was Good as well but could have been better. Not sure about other hard rocks but this one gives a 15% military discount.

  • Aprile M.

Went here for lunch around 11:30. The place was empty. Atmosphere and decor is very nice. We had the nachos with chicken to share. My daughter had the Mac n cheese kids meal with fruit. Service was good and our food was brought out very fast. Bathrooms were very clean.

    (5)
  • Jessica K.

It is just what you expect from Hard Rock everywhere. We were in Pigeon Forge for a weekend and decided to take the kids. We went a little early for dinner to avoid the long wait. The kids enjoyed looking at all the displays. The food was ok not a stand out but good for what it was. The service was friendly and attentive.

  • Ken P.

Had lunch with my wife and two young boys. The service was outstanding, the food was pretty good as well. Tried and liked: Fried bacon Mac and Cheese Baked beans Tried and loved: Mashed potatoes and gravy (amazing gravy!) Fresh potato chips with BBQ sauce Pulled pork Meh: The ribs were ok, but kinda chewy and left a lot to be desired.

    (4)
  • Melissa E.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the aquarium. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, and the waiter advised me to have the spices on the side (good call). My dish ended up being really yummy, and everyone else's was just okay. Our service was alright, but the prices were rather high for the food that we ordered. We usually stay away from chain places, but I'd eat here again. The decor was kind of cool, but the music was really loud and we couldn't talk much.

    (3)
  • Martyn B.

The service was terrible, my wife ate half her meal with no drink. Wait staff seemed poorly trained and overwhelmed. Food was terrible, no pickles for the hamburgers, greasy and low quality. Worst $50 I've spent for a meal in a long time.

    (1)
  • Karen W.

This review may be a moot point, as they are moving to Pigeon Forge within the next year. This is a smaller restaurant and parking can be tricky. There is a paid lot across the street. The food was average but our server was great with information about Gatlinburg and where to go and what to see. I thought I ordered the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich but what I received was a chicken finger sandwich. It tasted OK but not what I was expecting.

    (3)
  • Michael A.

I went with my family on a Thursday night. The wait was 45 minutes, but all of the staff were friendly and attentive. I almost didn't try this Hard Rock Cafe because of the poor reviews on Yelp, but I'm glad I did. The food was excellent.

    (4)
  • Nicole I.

Over priced, as Hard Rock usually is. The facility was pretty nice, seemed clean and pretty well kept. Our waitress was friendly and kept our drinks refilled promptly. I'm giving 3 stars because of the price and pretty long wait for what seemed to be a relatively empty restaurant.

    (3)
  • Bryan F.

Very nice resturaunt ! I loved the decor , enjoyed looking at and reading about all the pieces of rock history they have. Food was very good and service was great! Reasonably priced compaired to last nights mistake, of overpriced and not very good food at another resturaunt .

    (5)
  • Mark D.

We came in for lunch and had a great time. It definitely helped that we had an awesome waitress. The food was really good. It is a little pricey but it was in a tourist area so it's about what you would expect. We had a small wait but only 10 minutes. Overall a great experience.

    (5)
  • Jennifer J.

First off no parking and a really small area/resturant! The music was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my spouse! The burger I order was nothing special for the price! I ordered done and it came rare which ended up my spouse ate and I watched him and then I ate and he set and watched me! Not the way we had dinner planned! The mixed drink we ordered I think was called a hurricane was really good! Service was just ok!

So, before I deliver my ruling on this Hard Rock Cafe, here are a few things to note. It is a HARD ROCK CAFE for crap's sake, otherwise known as most crowded tourist spot/restaurant/trap in the world. Of course it's going to be crowded and the drinks are going to be pricey, they rely on silly tourists with deep vacation wallet brain. Typically, I think the service at most Hard Rock Cafes is just terrible, but this one was actually quite good. Their food was standard, they had a pretty deece veggie burger and I enjoyed it. One of the better HRCs I have been to.

    (3)
  • Gwenda K.

Short one here, we love Hardrock, so always take a little time to visit one when we travel. Our server - awesome, but the food and the help that delivered the food let him down. Splattering sauce over one of our guests. The promised of a replacement Tee Shirt for her to change into never happened. Shirt ruined but I must say we did not make a big fuss. Food Ok, for a chain, we have had much better in other parts of the world, but tasty and edible. Cleanliness Ok but glad I did not see the kitchen. They will be moving out of the downtown area next year which I think will be much better for them. Parking Horrible, but were lucky and parked right across the street. We will try them again in the New Year though.

  • Deborah C.

I am not usually one to support a chain but choices are somewhat limited in Gatlinburg. The waitress was amazing, super nice and very sweet to my daughter. I had the veggie burger, was great. My husband and daughter had burgers. They loved them. Far exceeded my expectations.

    (3)
  • Jo L.

First of all...lets just agree....we are talking about a Hard Rock Cafe....that being said....this one had decent service the day we were there....and what we ordered was good.... In my opinion they ALL are over priced for what you get.... But it is what it is! As HRC go...this one did good...and yes I would go there again! I do think that more resturants in Gatlinburg should do like The Melting Pot and TGI Fridays...And offer parking!

    (4)
  • Anita N.

I do expect to pay more at Hard Rock, but I still felt it was really high priced for what we received. Waiter was nice & attentive. Part of our meal was forgotten though- we had to ask twice.

    (3)
  • Mitch W.

Come on hard rock... Get it together. This was my worst experience by far of any of the Hard Rock Cafe locations. Food was tasteless and warm at best. Drinks were slow to the table and not checked on regularly. Waitress did not understand basic math and how change works when paying with cash. I had a burger and onion rings. Burger was ordered at med rare and came out charcoal. Onion rings were raw and the breading came off when you picked them up. With all the other options I would leave this off the itinerary

    (1)
  • Mark R.

Recently Decided to visit the new location. You can tell they are still having problems with the kitchen keeping up with the volume. We had to wait about 15 minutes even though there were plenty of empty tables visible and we waited a long time for the meal to arrive after ordering. However, on the plus side, the waitress was very good, the atmosphere was good, and the food was good. My wife collects Hard Rock souvenirs. She has her glass and guitar now from the new location. Chances are we will not return. There are too many other options in the area not to try others each time you are in the area.

  • Jim T.

Nice Hard Rock. Good service and cool memorabilia. However, the traffic is a nightmare!

    (4)
  • Christopher G.

It's hard rock cafe. Don't go there for a 99 cent burger. Food was good, service was excellent. We went the Tuesday after labor day and maybe there were 12 other tables in there.

    (5)
  • Tracy S.

Good Food !!! Good Fun !!!!

    (4)
  • Robbie G.

I have always came here and we love the hard rock and love the food. The prices are not that bad either compared to other food places in the area. What I didn't like here compared to hard rocks every where else is the service. The waitress insulted my daughter when she asked for a box. She tried to say she was kidding but sorry too late. We might skip out on this next year and break a 5 year tradition.

    (3)
  • David C.

Shame on us for coming to a chain restaurant. The service was attentive, but a little pushy. A hamburger was ordered medium, but was blood rare. A boca burger was meh. The salmon was decent. The grilled chicken salad was sub par. the chicken was cold and seemed as though it were "grilled" at a central commissary and arrived at the restaurant that way. The kids liked the apple a la mode. With these chains, if you order something that isn't fried, you'll pay the price for it with a loss of quality.

    (2)
  • Chuck C.

The food is kind of generic, but the place rocks! Don't forget to collect your sweatshirt or t shirt.

    (3)
  • Candice W.

Expensive for what we ordered. Everything was dry with no taste. Won't go back and wouldn't recommend. Been to better HRC!

  • Chip R.

On vacation in Gatlinburg, we decided to stop in for lunch. We were seated immediately, but we're not offered a high chair for our toddler. Both of us got burgers and fries, which were good. I didn't think they were that great but it is a touristy place. Our waiter however was awesome! He was always attentive and even told us we could check out the memorabilia and he would come and get us when our food arrived. This is a small location, but or waiter advised us that next year they will move to pigeon forge to a larger location with free parking!

    (4)
  • Brian G.

    Service is horrible!

    (1)
  • Keith H.

This place rocks! The memorabilia was awesome, and so was the music. The staff was nice and the service was good. I ordered the Twisted Mac, Chicken & Cheese Entree...it was very delicious. It had become my favorite! I'll have to go back for some more of that!!!

    (4)
  • Ashley C.

Food is good but a bit pricey. Service was ok. We really enjoyed watching the live band that was playing and having some drinks. We had a good time here and will come back next time we're in town.

I've never ate at a Hard Rock despite the many I've been around. Decided to swing in and check one out while on vacation in the Smokies. Cool decor from many artists. Loud rock playing on the speakers/tvs. Seated quick and waitress was friendly and fast. Wife had chicken tenders and homemade chips. Both were tasty. I had the hickory BBQ bacon burger and fries. Burger was juicy and tasty. Fries were good. My only complaint was the price. I've paid much less than $12 for a better burger and fries. I guess you gotta pay for all the rock decor somehow.

    (3)
  • Andrew S.

Great but SMALL Hard Rock. The staff was all extremely friendly, quick and accurate. People were complaining about the noise level... But it's Hard Rock... So expect LOUD. Food here is always spot on, but in my personal opinion, the desserts have.really stepped up to the next level. Especially with the personal creme brûlée that they have. A must try for any caramel fan!

  • Barb B.

They have moved to Pigeon Forge next to the Titanic Museum. So that makes us pigeons for going there. We were kind of trapped because we were on a school bus trip with almost 50 middle school kids. Was welcomed with southern charm and then once we were seated the worst waiter in the world had our section. 1. Told us the lemonade was not working when the other sections were given lemonade. 2. I asked about the toppings on the honey mustard chicken sandwich (evidently he didn't like special orders) he cut me off before I could tell him no cheese, it came out with cheese and no honey mustard. 3. Another parent went to the manager and reported the absolute rudeness of the server and when he brought out the "desert" a cookie for each person he threw ours down on the table and said "I hope this improves your service". AND 4. No ROCK music was playing but soft rock and country was plentiful and playing softly in the background.

  • Alex M.

WAY expensive drinks, and totally watered down. If you want to feel your drink, order pure liquor shots, and have a water too. The mixed drinks are like 10 percent alcohol. The burger I had was totally awesome, and the waitress was nice and got everything right on the order. I want to figure out how to get out the door with the Jimmy Page Les Paul... lol ...

    (3)
  • Laurie Z.

Always a good burger. Sat at the bar; not too crowded at 6:00 pm Tues eve. Had to buy merch. :) Location is good if walking from the Aquarium.

    (4)
  • Neil M.

Food was okay and the service was good for lunch. If you are a music fan, be sure to stroll through and look at all the memorabilia. If you are staying in Gatlinburg, try to fins a hotel/house that has parking and is near a trolley stop. The $2 unlimited trolley ticket is a good value, but check first - doesn't include some stops (i.e. - only the pink trolley goes to Dollywood).

    (3)
  • RA V.

Very friendly staff, but ..... The restaurant had poor air conditioning and a funny odor making it seem a bit 'icky'. The ceasar salads very warm not to mention they had black olives on them. Entrees we poor to ok - nobody in our party said their's was great. First Hard Rock I haven't liked - very "Planet Hollywood-esque". Food first, then worry about the theme and the music.

    (2)
  • Isaac K.

Good food. Plenty to look at. If you go in at a slower time as a couple they will stick you at a tiny table. There were only two tables that seated two, and both were in the worst possible locations. Over all it was a great experience after we got moved. Draft beer selection was average, but I am spoiled in Ashville.

    (4)
  • Rene R.

Only my 2nd time eating at Hard Rock and I barely remember the first time. We had a party of 6 and it was a 45 min wait. We were ok with that as it was a friday night the weekend of new year! In fact we kinda expected longer! Well about 40 min later, we notice large party being seated that had just came in the door. So word of advice - HRC has and express pass program. And it means if you have an express pass card, you jump to the front of the line! There is no sign that states this, other places that have them - ESPN Zone for example - have signs when you enter so you are not caught off guard when you get skipped after waiting almost an hour! Once seated the service was fairly quick and good. Our server was very friendly and the kitchen was working hard as our food came pretty quickly. The staff was also apologetic about the extra wait due to the express pass people. Like other reviews have said, it was quite loud but that's to be expected. The food was delicious! One member of our party had chicken wings and I had the chicken tenders with their spicy mac n cheese. The chicken was delicious in both cases. Excellent seasonings but the mac was a bit disappointing. They say spicy but clearly have no clue what spicy is. It was good, just not spicy! The burgers that came out were also delicious as well as the fries. It was louder than I'd like so I probably won't go back but it was good if you like that atmosphere!

    (3)
  • Laura M.

Overpriced drinks (required to buy souvenir glass), mediocre food (brown lettuce, tasteless cheese), expensive ($13 for aforementioned salad), music too loud even for Hard Rock, and surly service. Don't bother! Not up to Hard Rock standards.

    (1)
  • Alden C.

This restaurant and town right next to the Smoky Mountains is quite pretty. It is a tourist trap though and parking here in this town sucks! I mean big time! It took me forever to get a place to go into the Hard Rock. Other than that the cafe is your usual Hard Rock, always lots of fun memorabilia and you just gotta get one of their T-shirts if you are old school and still collect the Hard Rock T's.

    (3)
  • Cristina V.

OK, not great because they are always busy. A big tourist trap. But then again, so is Gatlinburg....They are always playing loud ,tacky, music(ie,YMCA) and you'll most likely have to wait for a table. But if you're with a group of friends and looking for some entertainment then go here.Every 30 minutes the servers hop on the bar and do karoke and dance...I mean its kind of cheezy but some people like it. Just don't order anything "exotic sounding" on the menu...stick to burgers and salads....The rest is not so great...

    (3)
  • Dustin W.

I stopped here for a few drinks. Way too small of a place for the amount of people that are the restaurant at any given time. Lots of family's and extra noisy this wouldn't be my idea place to go to on vacation or any other time.

  • Megan k.

I'm a big fan of Hard Rock, so we went here b.c it was a place we knew we liked and has always lived up to our expectations. I was VERY VERY let down. It was simply horrible. They closed for a private party and we ended up waiting and waiting and waiting. When they finally opened things were really crazy. They had the music WAY too loud and was really horribly cheesy, (Private Dancer) . Not enough room, we had another couple within two feet of us and some drunks at the bar falling on us. Our food finally came and it was all wrong. I asked for no cheese and got cheese. When I *finally* got it, all other parties were done eating, so I just took it to go, b.c I didn't want to make everyone else wait. I got back home, starving, to eat a soggy, cold burger only to find.....CHEESE dripping off it. You could clearly see where they had scrapped the cheese off it...gross gross gross!!!! I'm in shock HardRock would let something like this happen and very disappointed. I wouldn't expect this from a cheap fast food joint.
